Step 1

Open up a new document 800x800px and fill the background with #2e2e2e. Create a new layer named 'banner' and make a selection of 800x120px at the top of the document and apply a gradient from #2f2f2f to #1a1a1a.



Step 2

Create a new layer named 'under banner' and make a selection of 800x5px under your banner layer and fill with #87bc22.



Step 3

Now we are going to add the text for our banner. So make a new text layer and put in your website's name, the font that I have used was Myriad Pro, Light, 30pt, Strong, #ffffff. Create another new text layer and add some subtext, the font that I used was Myriad Pro, Light, 14pt, Strong, #ffffff.



Step 4

Create a new text layer and add some text links in, the font that I used was Myriad Pro, Regular, 16pt, Crisp, #ffffff. Now make a new layer named 'link hover' and using the Rounded Rectangular Marquee Tool make a selection behind one of the text links and fill with #87bc22. Move your 'link hover' layer under your text links layer.



Step 5

Make a new layer named 'content bg' and make a selection of 700x600px and fill with #151515. Delete a 1 pixel stroke 1 pixel inside. Apply an Outer Glow.



Step 6

Now we are going to do some fill-in text. So create a new text layer and put in some subtitle text, the font that I used was Tahoma, Bold, 11pt, None, #ffffff. Now for the content fill-in text, create another new text layer and add some text from lipsum.com, the font that I used was Tahoma, Regular, 11pt, None, #8c8c8c.



Step 7

We are now going to put in some fill-in images so create another subtitle, the font that I used was Tahoma, Bold, 11pt, None, #ffffff. For the images, just create a new layer and put in your images, and apply a Stroke.



Step 8

Lastly we are going to be adding the copyright information at the bottom. So create a new text layer and put in the copyright information, the font that I used was Tahoma, Bold, 11pt, None, #ffffff, Blend Mode: Soft Light.
