Step 1

Make a new document 800x800px and fill the background with #f0fdc1. Create a new layer named 'main bg' and make a selection with the Rounded Rectangular Marquee Tool which covers most of the document and fill with #daee9b. Apply an Outer Glow and a Stroke.

Step 2

Create a new layer named 'banner' and make a selection inside your 'main bg' layer using the Marquee Rectangular Tool and apply a gradient from #a9c457 to #86a02d. Ad some text for your design's title, the font that I have used was Myriad Pro, Regular, 30pt, Crisp, #ffffff. For the added text the font that I used was Myriad Pro, Regular (and SemiBold), 18pt, Crisp, #ffffff, Blend Mode: Soft Light. You can put the text on it's side by going Edit > Transform > Scale and rotating it around (drag around the box).

Step 3

Create a new text layer for your navigation links, the font that I used was Myriad Pro, Regular, 16pt, Crisp, #86a02d. Now we are going to make the hover link effect, create a new layer named 'link hover', using the Rounded Rectangular Marquee Tool make a selection in the middle above the banner, and fill with #a9c457. Put this new layer under your text links layer. Change the colour of the text link above this 'link hover' layer to #daee9b.

Step 4

We are now going to be adding some fill-in text. So grab some from lipsum.com, and firstly we are going to make a header so make a new text layer and add your subtitle, the font that I used was Tahoma, Bold, 11pt, None, #86a02d. Now we are going to do the content fill-in text so create another new text layer and add in that lipsum text, the font that I used was Tahoma, Regular, 11pt, None #86a02d.
