Title: Glossy Green Layout Description: A beginner tutorial on web layouts Step 1

Go File > New, and make a new photoshop document 800 pixels by 800 pixels. Fill the background with white.

Step 2

Layer > New > Layer, and make a new layer named 'banner'. Using the rectagular marquee tool make a selection of 800x150 pixels at the top of your document and fill with a gradient from #c4f400 to #217934.

Step 3

Create a new layer named 'banner shine' and make a selection of 800x110 pixels at the top of your documet again and fill it with white and then lower the opacity of the layer down to 10%. This will give us a shiny effect for our banner.

Step 4

Add some text for the title of the website. Duplicate your text layer. Now go Edit > Transform > Flip Verticle. Lower the opacity of your copied layer down to 10%.

Step 5

Now put some subtitle text or slogan or something on the banner, add a reflection like we did in the last step.

Step 6

Create a new layer named 'links bg' and make a selection of 800x50 pixels using the Rectangular Marquee Tool. Fill the selection with a gradient from #3a413b to #1f2320.

Step 7

Create a new layer named 'links bg shine' and make a selection of 800x30 pixels. Fill the selection with white and lower the opacity of the layer to 3%.

Step 8

Add some text links.

Step 9

Create a new layer named 'content bg' and make a selection using the Rounded Rectangular Tool, covering most of the white space - leaving some space at the bottom. Fill the selection with #242925.

Step 10

Duplicate your 'content bg' layer and then move it below the original layer. Add a layer mask to this layer. Make a gradient from white to black under your 'content bg' layer to make a fading out effect. Lower the opacity of the 'content bg' duplicate to 15%.
