Step 1

First off, create a new document 1000x900px and fill the background with #131313.



Step 2

Create a new layer named 'bg2' and make a selection of 1000x260px using the Rectangular Marquee Tool at the bottom of your document, fill the selection with #0f0f0f. Add an Outer Glow and Stroke blending options.



Step 3

Create a new layer named 'main bg' and make a selection using the Rounded Rectangular Marquee Tool in the middle of your document about 700x710px. Fill the selection with #080808.



Step 4

Create a new layer named 'main bg stroke' and select the area of your 'main bg' layer (Click on the layer's icon in the layers window), go Select > Modify > Contract, 10 pixels. Fill this selection with #0a0a0a and add a Stroke to the layer.



Step 5

Create a new group named 'header' and a subgroup named 'logo', then create a new layer named 'bg' and make a selection of 150x150px using the Elliptical Marquee Tool. Fill the selection with a dark colour (we are adding a gradient overlay later on). Add an Outer Glow, Inner Glow, Gradient Overlay and Stroke blending options.



Step 6

Create a new layer named 'shine', select the area of your 'bg' layer and go Select > Modify > Contract, 5 pixels. Deselect the bottom half or so using the Elliptical Marquee Tool and fill the selection with #ffffff. Lower the opacity of the layer down to 7%.



Step 7

Create a new text layer and add in the title of your website, the font that I have chosen for this is Myriad Pro, Regular, 16pt, Sharp, #a7e4fe. Add an Outer Glow to this layer.



Step 8

Create a new subgroup named 'links' and a subsubgroup named 'home'. In this new subsubgroup make a new layer named 'bg' and make a selection using your Rounded Rectangular Marquee Tool about 225x45px in dimensions, fill the selection with a dark colour (again , we are going to be adding a gradient overlay soon so it doesn't matter too much). Add an Outer Glow, Inner Glow, Gradient Overlay and Stroke blending options.



Step 9

Create a new layer named 'shine' and select the area of your 'bg' layer, deselect the bottom half of the selection using the Rectangular Marquee Tool and fill the remaining selection with the colour #ffffff, lower the opacity of the layer down to 4%.



Step 10

Create a new text layer and add in a text link, the font that I have chosen for this is Myriad Pro, Semibold, 12pt, Sharp, #004866.
