Tutorials » Basic Blue Logo
Step 1

Create a new document 400x400px. Fill the background with #1e1e1e.

Step 2

Create a new layer named 'base' and make a selection of 150x150px using the Elliptical Marquee Tool. Fill the selection with #488ad4.

Step 3

We are now going to be adding some blending options to give the plain circle some interest. Apply an Outer Glow, Bevel and Emboss, Satin, Gradient Overlay and a Stroke.

Step 4

Create a new text layer and add in your website's name. The font style that I have used here is Myriad Pro, Black, 30pt, Sharp, #6badf7.

Step 5

We are now going to be applying a couple of blending options to our text layer so that it does not look too boring either. Apply an Outer Glow and a Gradient Overlay.

Step 6

Create another new text layer and add a slogan under your main text. The font that I have used for this is just Myriad Pro, Regular, 14pt, Sharp, #c8e2ff.

Step 7

Now we are going to add a reflection, so firstly duplicate this layer and move it below our original 'base'. Lower the opacity to 5%.

Step 8

And do the same for the text layers, duplicate, move down, lower opacity and also go Edit > Transform > Flip Vertical so that they are upside down, and all reflection-like. Done, you have made a basic little logo!
