Create a new document 728x90px. Create a gradient from #910000 to #d20000 on your background layer.

Step 2

Create a new layer named 'brushes' and set your foreground colour to #590000. Get our the brush tool, and using some grunge brushes brush around your document. Set the Layer's Blend Mode to Soft Light.

Step 3

Create a new layer named 'shine' and make a selection of 728x50px at the top of the document using the Rectangular Marquee Tool. Fill the selection with #ffffff. Lower the opacity of the layer to 10%.

Step 4

Now we are going to add a stroke to the banner to better define it from anything else on the page that it will go on to. So create a new layer named 'stroke' and select all (Ctrl + A) and go Edit > Stroke, 1px, #000000.

Step 5

Create a new text layer and add the website's title in, the font that I have used here is Myriad Pro, Bold, 30pt, Crisp, #ffffff. Create another new text layer and add some subtext like 'Click Here' or 'photoshop tutorials', the font that I have used for that is Myriad Pro, Bold, 14pt, Crisp, #ffffff.

Step 6

Create a new layer named 'tutorial images' and on the right hand side of your document add in some images of tutorials that your website has (between 40x40px to 80x80px sizes). Add a Stroke to this layer.
